HONDURAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

This is a very exciting week! Our Independence Day Celebration will take place on Thursday, September 13.The committee has been working very hard to make this an attractive event for our students (and parents who wish to join us).

The day will begin with a Potluck Desayuno Catracho in each homeroom (anticipated thanks to all the parents for pitching in) from 8:00 to 8:50 a.m.

The students will then travel to four different workshop / stations:

9:00 - 9:40 a.m. Art Exhibition - Parents are welcome to visit and enjoy the replicas our students have made of famous Honduran painters’ masterpieces. Our Elementary students will present replicas of Arturo Lopez Rodezno and Moises Becerra.

9:40 - 10:20 a.m. Painting Workshop - The students will paint a ceramic traditional item. A huge THANKS goes to our DPTO for donating the pieces that our students will be painting on that day!
10:20 - 11:00 a.m. Honduran Dancing - The children will participate in an interactive activity where they will learn fun steps to traditional Honduran dances.
11:00 - 11:40 a.m. Traditional Games - The will wrap up the day enjoying many of the traditional games that are played by children in Honduras.

This is an Early Dismissal Day, students will be leaving the school at 11:40 a.m.

Independence of Honduras, there will be no school on Friday, September 14 and
